Waxing Tips
- Gently exfoliate your skin a day before getting waxed.
- Avoid putting lotion on skin the day of waxing.
- Allow your hair to grow in about 1/4 inch, to assure wax will adhere. (hair should grow out about two weeks)
- Take Ibuprofen or Tylenol an hour before you wax, if you are sensitive.
- We offer numbing cream for sensitive clients, please arrive 1/2 hour prior to appointment for application. There is a $5 charge for numbing cream.
- Avoid caffiene and alcohol at least 12 hours before waxing, this will make you more sensitive.
- Do not wax skin that is irritated, sunburned, or infected. Do not wax if you are on medications that thin the skin or make you sensitive. Some are: acne meds, retinols, and some antibiotics.
- Avoid waxing within four days of your menstrual cycle, if you are sensitive.
- Allow 3-5 weeks between waxes.
- Do not use peels, dermabrasion for 48 hours prior to wax.
- Avoid suntanning/tanning beds at least 48 hours prior to waxing.
- Keep wax area clean and dry for 24 hours after wax, no harsh lotions or cleansers.
- Use Bumps Be Gone! Every day after wax, for smooth skin.
- Exfoliate the skin in shower starting on the third day post wax with Rehab everyday.
- No hot tubs, hot showers, exercise, and sex for 24 hours post wax.
- Shaving prior to waxing can lead to a transition period. Generally waxing takes 2-3 consistent appointments to achieve optimal results. You can achieve results quicker if you have not been shaving.
- Avoid shaving between waxes.
- Wear loose fitting, cotton, breathable underwear and clothing after waxing appointment.
- We no longer wax women who are more than 6 months pregnant.
